One of the most popular Chinese takeout dishes, this one pan homemade version features chicken, vegetables and chow mein noodles in a delicious homemade chow mein sauce, and will be ready on the table in 30 minutes.
30-Minute Chicken Chow Mein
Prep Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4 servings
Ingredients
1 pound chow mein or ramen noodles, discard seasoning packets
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 ribs celery, chopped
2 cups cabbage, chopped
1 cup matchstick carrots
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced
5 green onions, sliced with whites and green separated
Directions
In a small bowl, combine soy sauce and brown sugar. Set aside.
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large pan on medium-high heat. Add chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook until browned and cooked through. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
Add remaining tablespoon oil to the pan. Add celery, cabbage and carrots and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add the ginger, garlic and green onions and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the chicken, noodles and sauce and toss until everything is well coated. Serve immediately.
