RECIPES DIY PARENTING KIDS CRAFTS MAKE MONEY AT HOME
I’ve never been someone who wanted a “perfect” body worthy of fitness magazines. As I’ve gotten older, my body isn’t as trim as it used to be, and after having kids, forget about it.
One of my biggest personal hurdles has been my arms. Although I maintain a healthy weight, my arms have always been somewhat flabby.
Before I started this workout, I was asked to be a bridesmaid at a very close friends’ wedding. The dresses we chose were strapless, and although the dress was beautiful, and it fit me well, I felt a little self-conscious about how my arms looked.
The wedding was in June and I thought it would be a nice extra incentive to get rid of the extra arm flab by summer. So, I set a goal to tone my arms and I did it just in time for the wedding. If you have the same hurdle, I encourage you to start this arm workout and start seeing results immediately! So how did I accomplish this goal?
One of the first things I did was taking pictures of myself to track my progress and make sure that the video workout I used really worked. There’s nothing more defeating than putting time and energy into a workout, to not see any results, right? So, here is my first photo before I started the workout, on January 8.
What I love about this workout is that it’s only around 12 minutes long, perfect for someone with a busy schedule. And it helped that unlike other arm workouts, I didn’t feel l wanted to die while doing it.
I started with 5 lb. weights because my goal was to slim down and tone arm flab. You can use heavier weights if you don’t find them challenging enough, but I strongly suggest starting with 5 lbs. because some of these exercises have you using muscles that you may not normally use and you’ll find that 5 lbs. is plenty.
How Often Did I Do the Workout?
I did this workout at least 4 times per week. Since it only takes about 12 minutes, I made sure to prioritize it into my schedule. It wasn’t easy. I’m a work-at-home mom and homeschool my kids. YOU CAN DO IT. DON’T make excuses!
The workout I used was XHIT Daily’s “How To Lose Arm Fat” and is found on YouTube. It has 48 million views, only takes twelve minutes. Here is the link.
I’m sure that the reason you’re here is because you want to know if it really works. I can tell you that it does! I did this workout at least 4 times a week and took photos to monitor my progress along the way. The pictures make all the difference.
If you feel like you’re losing motivation, start taking pictures. The changes you see will boost your motivation and help you keep going. When I was halfway to my goal, my whole household caught the flu that lasted for two weeks. I didn’t workout at all during that time, but looking at my progress in the photos helped me pick up where I left off.
The photo below is after doing the photo for month. The changes weren’t dramatic, but you can see some muscle definition and less arm flab. The photo was taken February 10th.
At the two month mark, my arms really stared to look thinner. The photo below was taken on March 9th.
The is my most up to date progress after three months and this photo was taken on April 7th, approximately 12 weeks from when I started the workout.
I’m so proud of myself for sticking with this workout. And you know what? I’m definitely continue it, so I can keep my arms in great shape.
I hope this has motivated you! If you do this arm workout, I would love to hear about your progress in the comment section below!
